Approval Is a Moving Target — So Stop Chasing It

Lose weight and you're too skinny. Say yes and they expect it again. Say no and they question your character. Kari breaks down why people-pleasing is a game you were never meant to win — and what happens the moment you finally stop playing.
Blog Post | Approval Is a Moving Target — So Stop Chasing It

There’s no reason to be a people pleaser.

People are never pleased.Y

ou can twist yourself into knots, bite your tongue till it bleeds, explain things six different ways, weigh 240 pounds and have people tell you are unhealthy then lose 101 pounds and have people tell you you’re too skinny. You can soften your edges, shrink your needs, show up tired and overextended just so nobody gets uncomfortable and guess what… Somebody will still find fault.

If you say yes, they’ll expect it again.

If you say no, they’ll question your character. If you grow, they’ll say you changed. If you stay the same, they’ll say you’re stuck. People will misunderstand you on purpose. They’ll hear what suits them. They’ll rewrite your intentions and then be mad at the version of you they made up in their head!!! Here’s the hard truth we eventually learn…..Approval is a moving target that you will never hit…..

MIC DROP

The moment you stop living for approval, something shifts. Your shoulders drop.Your breath gets deeper and peace gets louder than their opinions. You don’t owe anyone access to your energy, your body, your time or your story. You don’t owe explanations for protecting your sanity. You don’t owe gentleness to people who only like you when you’re small. Choose honesty over harmony. Choose boundaries over burnout. Choose yourself even when it makes other people uncomfortable.

They’re gonna talk anyway.

You might as well live free while they do.
